The winds do contrary blow,
Jesus walks upon the water,
And bids Peter to follow
The boisterous winds increase,
As does fear and doubt,
Peter cries, "Lord, save me!"
Jesus puts his hand out...(Matt. 14:24-31)
We are traveling a great ocean,
The winds are contrary to His ways,
According to the spirit of disobedience, (Eph 2:2)
We strive to be children of the day (I Thess. 5:5)
As the multitudes around us increase,
And we fear that we are alone,
Jesus reaches out his faithful hand,
A most perfect cornerstone (Eph. 2:20)
