When your husbands away
And in the camp there's sin
Have you opened the tent?
Let the enemy in?

Can you be strong?
As Jael was back then
Strike the devil down dead
Through his temples, a tent pin?

Only one man in a thousand
Could Solomon find
And among women, not one
In whom righteousness abides! (Ecclesiastes 7:28)

 Judges 4:17
Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.

And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and inquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.

(Sorry for the change in font, can't figure out how to reduce it back down)

Judges 4:21
Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

Ecclesiastes 7:28
Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.
Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found.

The love of a father
Although he has been wronged
Is forgiving and merciful
And willing to suffer so long

His son took his inheritance
And spent it on wasteful things
He is coming home without
And absent of all his things

What reception should he expect?
No welcome,  that's for sure!
But he is treated like a king
His fathers heart is pure

First, he is welcomed with a kiss
Then a robe, ring and shoes
His father served him with a feast
And a love he never knew

O Lord, let me never be
That prodigal son
Help me keep my focus
On you, Lord
And off the pleasures of this world

Luke 15:20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Luke 15:21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

Luke 15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

Luke 15:23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

Luke 15:24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Luke 15:25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.

Luke 15:26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

Luke 15:27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

Luke 15:28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him.

Luke 15:29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

Luke 15:30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

Luke 15:31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

Luke 15:32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

The day after the Sabbath
At the rising of the sun
Three ladies arrived at the tomb
To anoint the Holy One

The stone was rolled away
A young man sitting on the right
Told them Jesus was risen
And they were filled with fright! (Mark 16)

The law had been fulfilled (Matt 5:17)
Swallowed up by love (Romans 13:10)
Offering us the greatest hope (Romans 15:4)
More than we could dream of.

Knowing the one true God,
And Jesus whom He sent, (John 17:3)
Heirs according to the promise, (Gal 3:29)
Faith imputed into righteousness (Romans 4:24)

No longer serving the flesh (Romans 8:5)
Nor a servant of sin
Minding the things of the spirit
Let the King if Glory come in! (Psalms 24:7-8)

Matt 5:17
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Romans 13:10
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Romans 15:4
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

John 17:3
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Galatians 3:29
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise

Romans 4:24
But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;

Romans 8:5
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Psalms 24:7
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Psalms 24:8
Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

One Spirit ( the last one is especially hard and for my son)

He was called all alone
Told to get from his kin
Over a hundred years old
When a son given to him

He played on his harp
For the mad king
Danced out of his clothes
The Psalms he did sing

He prayed three times a day
Ate pulse instead of meat
Was thrown in with lions
Dreamed of Jerusalem's defeat

He had long hair
Because he was a nazarite
Was the strongest of all
With a lion did he fight

Was kicking against the pricks He was blinded by a light
Sent to preach to the Gentiles
Labored day and night

A priest in the temple
God heard his prayer
Sent his wife a son
Who was clothed in camels hair

He was the voice in the wilderness
Crying out unto all men
Repent and be baptized
The kingdom of God is at hand

A young man who was taught
By two Godly women
Had unfeigned faith
And two letters wrote to him

His was given the law
Had a rod turned into a snake
Led the people to Freedom
Face to face with God did he speak

In the belly of a fish
Was there for 3 days
Preached a warning to Ninevah
And Gods wrath turned away

He stopped the rain
Put Baal to the test
Soaked the offering with water
The Lord did the rest

She was so wicked
Had a man killed for some land
The dogs licked up her blood
At Jehu's hand

She served the Lord
With daily fasting and prayer
When baby Jesus was first brought to the temple, she was there

He craved the body of Jesus,
For the kingdom of God, did he wait
Was an honorable counsellor,
To Pilate he boldly spake.

My husband's thoughts on "legalism"

Legalism?
Lately I hear people being called legalistic, usually beccause it is thought that they take the Bible teachings too seriously,  which ultimately makes them different from most labled Christian organizations. Ironically these that label others typically have a few legalistic characterisics of their own, for example, they hold strong to avoiding murdering, gambling, drunkards and robbery. Every tree is known by it's fruits, when I see someone bearing the fruits of Christ for the love of eternal life, I like to refer to them as Christians,

On the other hand those who obey laws dictated by goverment are callled law abiding citizens!Jesus told us if we love him to keep his commandments and he would come and make his abode with us. Jesus did not come to destroy the law but simply to fufill it. Each commandment Jesus brought could be likened to a link in a chain and joined together they form a way that reaches to this invisible kingdom. When asked by the Pharisees concerning when the kingdom of God would come? Jesus replied; it does not come with observation! In my journey with the Lord, I have learned that through laboring, suffering and sacrifice to keep the commandments our Lord delivered to us, along the way an eternal love affair is begining. What once seemed to be grevious and difficult to follow laws, is seemingly becoming the delight of my life! A joy that words simply cannot define. When I lay down to sleep it's on my mind, when I rise in the morning I thank the Lord because it's still on my mind, I find that my days are spent pondering my path and examining my steps and some may say; does he ever stop talking about it? We can safely assume that Indiana jones fully understood the power of the holy Grail and there is no doubt that he wanted it, but unfortunately he did not believe in the only way to obtain it. I firmly believe that if anyone finds that great pearl, something greater than anything found on earth or the heavens, he should become whatever is neccesary to obtain it! Call me legalistic if you so desire, but my desire is that God just keep calling me!

I typically only post poems, but have to make an exception.  We are taking a mini vacation out of state. I decided to check out a thrift store and a lady approached me and wanted to ask me a question. She was holding up two swimsuits she was considering for a friend.  She want me to give her my honest opinion on which one was more modest.  Are you kidding?  I suggested that she buy clothes to wear on top of it because there is really no "modest swimsuit."  What is the difference between wearing bras and panties in public if you are going to wear a swimsuit?
