A new king on the throne
The people make an appeal
Ease the yoke your father laid on us
And we'll serve you with zeal

Give me three days and
I'll let you know the decision I will make
He sought out counsel,
From young and old
Which one would he take?

The older men suggested kindness
So he could continue to rule
The young friends desired harshness
Which was advice from fools

He took his young friends counsel
Lost most of the kingdom too
The people left because of his words
They would fall under Jeroboam's rule

What lesson can we learn
From this young king's mistake?
Counsel is so good to get
Before a move you make

But even more importantly
Is who you chose to ask
Don't seek out the ungodly
For advise on any task ( Psalms 1)

Find someone older, wiser
Someone whose lived long
The mistakes that they have lived
May help you from going wrong

II Chronicles 10
Rehoboam, Solomon's son

A wise woman builds her house
A fool plucks it down
What are the qualities of the wise?
Where is wisdom found?

The wise will put others first
And let herself go without
She will be able to be quiet
When trouble comes about

She labors both day and night
To raise her children well
Cares more about eternity
Than where on earth she dwells

She loves her husband so so much and to him she gives her all
Prepares a home just for him
His every beck and call

She is not forced to do these things
They all bring her much joy
Each day is such a blessing
Filled with great rewards

Eph 6
Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord
A house for holy habitation
Dedicated just for Him
A place for his glory to show
A place to worship Him

Hezekiah had to purify it
Took him at least 8 days
He set the house in order
Then Israel began to pray

The sweet incense was burning
On the table the bread was set
Offerings morning and night
Solemn feast were also kept

If your temple has been defiled
By the world all around
While it is day, there is time
While a sacrifice can be found

Build your temple on the rock
With that precious cornerstone
A building fitly framed together
A habitation for God alone! (Eph 2:20-22)

The prophets told the king
what he wanted to hear
"Go up and prosper"
Was the reply to his ear

There was one that stood alone
That wouldn't go along
Micaiah spoke God's will
No matter what was going on

Two kings put on their kingly robes
And upon their thrones that day
The messenger went to get Micaiah
And told him what to say.

Would he listen
And go along with the lies the others told?
No- not Micaiah, He had God's spirit
Was not afraid to speak alone

It's easy to be in a group
And go on living a lie
But Gods wants us to do His will
And in His truths abide

The road is a narrow one
Most people won't get through
You must seek His face continually
His love will comfort you

II Chronicles 18

18Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 19And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 20And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:

Is there not a cause? (1 Sam 17:29)
David asked his fellow man
The Israelites were again oppressed
The Phillistines were in the land

Not one man would stand up
Until David came along
They looked at it through man's eyes
And were afraid of the great throng

David had another eye
One with a Godly view
He had grown to be dependent on God
(1 Sam 17:37 The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine)
He always brought him through

He's big, yea he is a giant
This indeed is true
But God is much more powerful
Than anything man can ever do
(Romans 8:31 If God be for us, who can be against us? )

When you look at things in this life
And it seems the cards are stacked against you
You've got to be like David
And LET God work in you
( Is 43:13 I will work, and who shall let it? )

Cast away your garments
Run to the savior's side
You cried out for mercy
And He has heard your cries

He asks you what you
Would have him do unto thee
Open up my eyes Lord!
If I could only see...

He opens up your eyes
This world is now so clear
Do you go sightseeing?
No, to the Lord must you stay near

In the world, not of it
We should have no interest in earthly things
Should keep our minds focused
On our Lord and only King

Although we were not blind
We surely couldn't see
Thank God our eyes are opened!
We must serve Him eternally!

Mark 10:49
