Twelve men stood on the border
Gazing at the promise land
They had a job
ahead of them
Given from Moses a command
They went all over the
land
To spy out the towns
The inhabitants were giants
Fruit was
abundantly found
The men gave their report
The Israelites were so
afraid
This land seemed impossible
They wished in Egypt they'd have
stayed
The wanted to chose another leader
And stone the two that
disagreed
Joshua and Caleb believed Gods promise
They weren't about to
flee
They knew that God was on their side
He parted the red sea for
them
The others had forgotten
And were ready to give in
We are
standing at the edge
Of the promise land
Trusting our God is
faithful
Obeying his commands
Oh, the promise land!
I want to enter
in
There is a place of rest there
To escape from this world's sin
