That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men,
but in the power of God. I Cor 2:1

The horn in the center
Is a powerful king
He will destroy wonderfully
And do a great thing

Through his policy, craft will prosper
He'll destroy many by peace (Daniel 8:24-25)
All this from the Great Power
The powers that be. (Romans 13)

He may be an earthly king
But in confidence we know,
His heart is in the hand
Of the One we love so!

Like a river, He'll turn his heart
Whithersoever he wants (Proverbs 21:1)
For good or for evil
Truth never departs (John 14:17)
Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today,  and FOREVER!!! Hebrews 13:8

Daniel 8: 24-25 (King of Grecia)
And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

Proverbs 21:1
The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

John 14:17
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

Take heed to thyself
When you are in a strange land
Don't make friends with the inhabitants
Lest it become a snare (Ex 34)

You are called to be strangers
And pilgrims on earth (Heb 11:13)
You mustn't bow down
Or partake in their mirth

Don't take their daughters for wives
Nor learn of their ways
Their molten image is falsehood (Jer 10:14-15)
That will perish in a day

Prepare a habitation (Psalms 107:36-37)
For The Lord to come in
Sow seeds and plant vineyards
Keep the weeds out ( of sin)

Man doesn't have the strength
To do it alone ( Jer 10:23)
The spirit of God
Must come into his home

Cry out for his mercy (Psalms 27:7)
Offer the sacrifice of praise (Heb 13:15)
Spend time in His Word. (I Tim 4:16)
Your life He will save! (Mark 8:35)

Heb 11:13
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Jer 10:14-15
Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them. They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

Psalms 107:36-37
And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation; And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

Jer 10:23
O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
Psalms 27:7
Hear, O LORD, when I cry with my voice: have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
Heb 13:15
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
I Tim 4:16
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Mark 8:35
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalms 19:14

Idols made in days of old
Carved and formed by the hand
Today created in the mind
A focus on things of man

What will I do tomorrow? or
I have to have that thing!
Spending time thinking lustily
To see what this world may bring

But it shouldn't be that way!
Every thought should be on Him
Seeking out a way to rest in God and
Fully trust whatever he sends

Take no thought for tomorrow
The morrow shall take thought for the things of itself (Matt 6:34)
Put all your strength towards serving God
And keep your Bible off the shelf!

"By strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place"
Ex 13:14

Sanctify unto me all the firstborn
God commanded Moses that day,
They were departing out of Egypt
The Lord would guide the way.

Pharaoh had lost his firstborn
Because God hardened his heart
After seeing all the miracles,
He wouldn't let the Israelites depart

But now, things were different
And they were on their way
Their loins girded and shoes on
This was the day!

Moses told them to remember
In the years that were to come
As a sign upon their hands
All the things The Lord had done

With the Lord's law in their mouth
And a memorial between their eyes
To teach it to their sons
That in The Lord, their strength lies

He has done the same for us,
Do we tell our children every day?
How He freed us from our bondage
And helped us find the way.

Prove thy servants, I beseech thee
For ten days , let us feed
On pulse, instead of meat
And water, let us drink

Daniel and the Hebrew servants,
Stood out different from the rest
They didn't want the luxuries
Their countenances were the test

After 10 days of the basics
While the others had enjoyed the feasts,
The Hebrews' were fairer and fatter
They weren't skinny in the least (Daniel 1)

They were able to withhold
From the pleasures they could see (Hebrews 11:26)
They wanted better things
Holy they would be! (I Peter 1:16)

They found their strength in God (Hosea 12:3)
And endured the test of time (Matt 24:13)
In the midst of a strange kingdom (Hebrews 11:13)
Through the fire and amongst the lions (Hebrews 11:33-34)

(Hebrews 11:26) (Moses)
Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.

I Peter 1:16
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Hosea 12:3
((Jacob) He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

Matt 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Hebrews 11:13
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Hebrews 11:33-34
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Ahaz took from the temple
All the silver and the gold
To send to the king of Assyria
For protection of his home

He saw an idol altar
On his way to meet this king,
He wrote down its description
He had to have one like that thing

His priest made it right away
He put it in the "old ones" place
Starting making offerings
A few times everyday

Does God want our altars and offerings
Mingled in the fashion of this world?
Didn't he specify His designs
And want them followed and understood?

All of his plans and designs
Are found in His great book
If you seek, you will find
You must take a look!
Keep this day
Remember every year
Send portions to all
Of your enemies, do not fear

They looked as though they'd destroy you
On the appointed day
Things got turned around on them
God provided an escape

This day you'll remember
As a day that you have rest
From striving with your enemies
Now you can give God your best

I wish this hadn't happened
You may say to yourself
If life was always good it be easier
Without the trials and tests

If life is always perfect
You won't have a chance to grow
If Surprises don't pop up
How you'd react, you don't know

The trying of your faith worketh patience
In patience, possess ye your souls
You must be able to endure to the end
This trying is more precious than gold
